OLIVET, Mich. – Lauren Rasmussen won her doubles and singles matches Saturday, but Olivet College won two closely contested matches to eke out a 5-4 victory over Albion College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association contest.
Playing with Heather Vogt at No. 1 doubles, Rasmussen eked out a 9-7 victory over Olivet's team of Maddy Drikakis and Rachael Hager. Rasumssen had an easier time in singles, defeating Haley Powers (6-0, 6-3) in the third flight.
Olivet pulled out the team win by gaining points in the closely contested No. 2 doubles and No. 6 singles matches. Powers and BreAnne Rudlaff pulled out the doubles match, 9-7, over Albion's team of Chrissy Gauss and Solano. Jeanette Fisher edged Albion's Rachel Berry (7-5, 2-6, 7-5) in singles.
Albion's next match is a Wednesday home date against Hope College. The first serve is set for 4 p.m.
