ALBION, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's tennis match between Albion College and Calvin College was decided by a tiebreaker Wednesday night.
Ellie Benzel and Jessica Bouma pulled out the No. 2 doubles match with a 7-3 tiebreaker over Olivia Conover and Lauren Rasmussen as Calvin walked out of the Ungrodt Tennis Center with a 5-4 victory over Albion.
Irene Chen and Margaux Kabodian won their singles and doubles matches for the Britons. Chen and Kabodian were 8-1 winners at No. 1 doubles. Chen won the No. 1 singles match in straight sets, while Kabodian pulled out a third-set tiebreaker to win the No. 2 singles match.
Rasmussen rallied from a set down to win the No. 3 singles match.
Next up for Albion is a 1 o'clock Saturday home match against Olivet College.
