Britons Drop Doubleheader

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College left the bases loaded twice in game one and those were the Britons best scoring chances in 8-0 and 9-0 losses to Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball action at Dempsey Field.

Game One

Lauren Oppliger, Cashmiere Jones, and Elena Luce – the top three hitters in the Albion order – all hit singles. Luce also drew a walk in the game. Albion also picked up a single from Monica Brugnoni.

Jones and Luce singled and Kaitlyn Hotchkin walked as Albion loaded the bases with no outs in the third. The next two batters hit groundballs to third base and the rally withered.

Adrian scored six times in the first inning. Morgan Brandt hit a two-run double and Taylor Van't Land added a two-run single.

Game Two

Julia Anderson and Sarah Hacker produced Albion's hits.

Casey Cribbs hit a two-run double as Adrian scored four times in the in the first. Rebecca Greco added a three-run homerun in the fifth.

On Deck

Albion's next MIAA doubleheader is Saturday at Hope.
