ABC WXYZ News Detroit has recently been running a segment called "Senior Salutes" that honors senior student-athletes who were unable to finish their season. Albion senior lacrosse player Scott Shepard was recently saluted during the segment.
In Shepard's final career game, he racked up six goals and one assist against Hanover College. During the shortened 2020 season, he started all six games, scoring 17 goals and 3 assists.
This attack man from Bloomfield Hills, Mich. majored in economics with a minor in communications.
"I was really looking forward to seeing him finish his senior year after watching him work hard for the last two years I have been here." said Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Aaron Mehl. "He has always brought a positive attitude, great work ethic, and leadership to the weight room that will be missed and will be hard to replace. He is the rare combination of an athlete who is genetically gifted but also works like he is not, to try to improve himself."

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email email@example.com
