After supporting his team with valuable minutes in two road wins against conference opponents this past week, Cortez Garland earned himself the title of Spotlight Student-Athlete.

In Albion’s game against Trine University, Garland played 32 minutes while scoring 27 points. This sophomore from Detroit added two rebounds and two assists to his stat-line as well. Garland remained clutch throughout the game by making all 13 of his free-throw attempts.

In the mid-week game against Olivet College, Garland again saw 32 minutes of action. He posted 17 points, with two rebounds and three assists. Hitting all seven of his free-throw attempts against the Comets made him a perfect 20-20 in these two games.
