SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – Cassandra Vince will represent Albion College in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship next Saturday.
The senior from Amherst, Ohio, was the third individual to reach the finish line in the Great Lakes Championship at the Blue River Park. She completed the 6K course in 21:20.1, setting the fastest time of her career and shaving nine seconds off her winning time in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship two weeks ago.
Vince is familiar with the course for the NCAA Championship as she will return to the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis. The Britons ran there in October for the pre-national meet.
As a team in the regional championship, Albion finished 21st. Leaha Sinnaeve (99th, 24:07.5), Hannah Adams (145th, 25:09.1), Taylor Anhalt (151st, 25:18.7) and Kendra Cook (162nd, 25:38.4) completed the Britons top five.
