Lansing, Michigan – Natalie Purcell was the Albion College women's top finisher in the Lansing Invitational, finishing the 5K course in 20:53 and placing 49th overall.

Sydney Graham had a breakout race running a new personal record of 21:36 to place 72nd.

"Our women's standout performers were Natalie and Sydney," explained Albion College Coach Derick Lawrence. "Both stayed calm the first half of the race and focused on making moves the second half of the race. They each caught a few girls over the last 200-meter stretch".

"It was an absolutely beautiful day to race" said Purcell.

First-year runner Linde Bolle (24:18) and sophomores Kassidy Zimmer (24:58) and Jessica Reynolds (25:20) rounded out the Britons top five.

"It was great to see many of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association teams a few weeks before the conference meet,"said Lawrence.

Albion will be sending its top runners to Elsah, Ill., next weekend for the Cowbell Classic Pre-National Meet at the Principia College North Farm Course.
