Head Volleyball Coach / Camp Director

Kristin Slamer-de St. Aubin achieved a career milestone in 2017 by becoming the coach with the most wins in the history of the Albion volleyball program.

The Britons achieved even more in 2018, securing 17 victories and winning a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match, both firsts for the program since the 2009 season.

In seven seasons, de St. Aubin has led the Britons to 78 victories. The Britons achieved winning seasons in 2015, 2016 and 2018 and reached the semifinal round of the MIAA Tournament in 2017 and 2018.

Albion placed three student-athletes on the all-MIAA squad in 2017, and libero Monica Shuk was selected as the league's Defensive MVP, a first for the Albion program.

Shuk gained another all-MIAA first team award in 2018, and she was joined by teammates Taylor Rosenthal (first team), Marie Pregenzer (second team) and Grace VanDorn (second team) as all-MIAA selections.

In addition to achieving the program's highest winning percentage in a season, the 2016 squad was one of the best defensive squads in all of Division III, finishing 19th in the nation in digs per set. Setter Ami Milligan was selected as the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III National Player of the Week in mid October. Milligan and libero Monica Shuk were all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association picks.

Slamer-de St. Aubin is a 2007 Albion graduate with a degree in K-12 physical education and secondary health education & she completed a master’s degree in educational leadership at Western Michigan University in the spring of 2015.

Slamer-de St. Aubin returned to Albion after a three-year stint as a head high school coach and regional club director from 2009-2012. In that role not only did she double the school’s wins with a nearly 20-win season in her second year but also led the program to one of the highest GPAs among all teams at the school. Slamer-de St. Aubin had four athletes receive all-Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference recognition, arguably one of the toughest Class A conferences in the state. In addition to her coaching resume, she was a health education teacher for three years at Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

From 2007-2008 Slamer-de St. Aubin served as the assistant coach for Northern Michigan University teams that posted 20-win seasons. In her time at Northern Michigan the program participated in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II tournaments, held national rankings, and had one American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week. Slamer coached one athlete with All-American recognition, three all-region players, and nine all-conference players. In addition to her assistant coaching duties, Slamer-de St. Aubin ran high school camps and clinics, held recruiting and scouting responsibilities, was responsible for monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, facilitated and monitored athletes strength and conditioning, coordinated team travel, and served as an instructor in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department.

In her time as a player at Albion College, she was a three-year starter and captain. Slamer-de St. Aubin tallied 27 kills in a 2004 contest against Tri-State which stood as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association record for a four-set match. Listed among the honorable mention players in the MIAA in 2006, she currently holds the career digs record at Albion.

Slamer-de St. Aubin and her husband, Josh, reside in Marshall with their children Landon and Marley.
