LEXINGTON, Ky. -- For the eighth consecutive year, the Albion College volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2019-20 school year, as announced on Monday afternoon.
The Britons were one of 231 Division III teams recognized, as over 1,300 teams were honored at all levels around the nation. To qualify, a team must maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.30. This is the 12th time overall Albion has achieved the honor.
In 2019, the Britons were 16-11 and 4-4 in a rugged MIAA schedule. Albion's season eventually came to a close in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals, falling to national power, Calvin College.
