Britons fall to NCAC rivals

LANSING, Mich. – Albion College tested two of the top teams in the North Coast Athletic Conference on the second day of an event as teams from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association challenged squads from the rival conference.

DePauw d. Albion 25-21, 25-19, 25-17

Albion could not generate a consistent attack, finishing with 12 kills in the first set and eight in the second and third. The Britons finished with a .046 hitting percentage.

Kelsey Gustafson and Chloe Webber led the Britons with eight kills apiece.

Wittenberg d. Albion 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22

Kate Winter knocked down 15 kills, Webber added nine kills, four blocks and two aces, and setter Grace VanDorn finished with a double-double of 21 assists and 11 digs.

Next Up

Albion, now 4-2 on the year, will play its home opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Anderson (Ind.) University.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
