Britons Build Momentum For Regular Season Finale

ALBION, MIch. – Albion College knew it would have its hands full against the Calvin College squad ranked fourth in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll Friday night.

In fact, one of Albion's objectives was to play well and take momentum into its 3 p.m. Saturday home match against Hope College.

Despite a three set (25-19, 25-9, 25-23) setback, Albion believes it accomplished its goal.

Marie Pregenzer served aces on consecutive points as Albion sprinted out to a 5-2 lead in the first set. Calvin only gained control when reeled off a five-point run to forge a 18-14 lead.

The teams traded points for most of the third set.

Kelsey Gustafson was Albion's offensive leader with six kills. Pregenzer finished with three kills, four block assists and three aces.

Anna Kamp led Calvin with 15 kills while hitting .448.
