Britons Finish 2nd Against UAH & Miles

The Briton women finished 2nd against division II UAH and Miles college.  The Britons received balanced scoring from all the disciplines.  

The distances were lead Megan McCulloch and Jordan Revenaugh, whom both finished as the 3rd best collegiate athlete in each of their events.  McCulloch ran a personal best time of 5:04.27 in the 1500m; while Jordan was 1 second off (18:23.47) of her personal in the 5,000m run. Sam Bieth also ran a personal best (19:37.37) en route to finishing 8th in the 5,000m run.  Adia Langland rounded out the Briton scorers in distance events.  

In the field, were able to win Two events, place 2nd in three events and 3rd in one other event. Anna Albaugh won the javelin and placed 4th in the shot put and discus throws. Lauren McDowell was the other event winner in the field.  She won the long jump and placed 6th in the 400m. Her time of 1:01.95 was a personal best. Hannah Almhiemid finished 3rd in the high jump and 2nd in the 100 and 400 Hurdles.  While ShaQuoria Thompson and Ashlee Dubois earned second-place finishes in three events. ShaQuoria finished second in the Shot Put and Discus throw. Ashlee finished 2nd in the triple jump.

In the sprints, Layla Wilks, Alexis McGinley, and Cianna Brown kicked off the outdoor season with great performances.  Layla broke her own school record in the 100m running 12.30. She finished 2nd in both the 100m and 200m. Alexis finished 5th and 3rd in the 200m while Cianna finished 7th in the 100m and 8th in the 200m.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
