Vince finishes her Albion career as an Academic All-American

Cassie Vince recently completed a sensational running career at Albion College, and she was rewarded for her academic and athletic pursuits by being selected as a Google Cloud Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Amherst, Ohio, product was voted to the Google Cloud Academic All-America second team in Division III women's track and field and cross country.

An exercise science major who graduated Summa Cum Laude in May, Vince raced to a 10th place finish in the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship in November and fifth place in the 5,000 meters during the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in March. Along the way, Vince was named the MIAA Most Valuable Runner in cross country and the Great Lakes Region Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu.
