BEREA, Ohio – Cassie Vince achieved an Albion College record and the No. 2 time in Division III at this point of the season in the mile on Saturday.

The senior from Amherst, Ohio, completed her race in 4:54.84 to finish nearly six seconds ahead of Katherine Diekema (Calvin College).

Boosted by a first place performance by Kimberly Barber in the triple jump and Layla Wilks' win in the 200 meters and runner up finish in the 55-meter dash, Albion finished fourth in the team standings of the Dr. William Taraschke Team Challenge. Albion racked up 94 points to finish behind Otterbein University (199), Baldwin-Wallace University (134) and Ohio Wesleyan University (104).

Barber, who achieved a school record of 35' 10 ¾" in the triple jump, also ran on both relays for Albion. She was joined by Wilks, Chalara Sutton and Allison Butler as the 4x200 team finished second. Barber, Cianna Brown, Dria Grant and Butler were third in the 4x400 event.

Albion secured 14 points in the shot put as ShaQuoria Thompson achieved a school record (42' ½") to finish second and Jessica Johnson took third.

The Britons gained 12 points in the 55 meters. Alexis McGinley joined Wilks in the final, finishing fifth.

Butler finished third and Brown finished fifth as Albion scored 10 points in the 400 meters.

Albion's next meet is the Indiana Wesleyan University Midwest Classic on Feb. 2.
