NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Cassie Vince broke Jessica Shaw's school record in the 5,000 meters as Albion College track & field athletes began competition in the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College on Thursday.

Vince, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Female Track Performer, picked up where she left off last week. She finished ninth overall, completing her race in 17:11.72.

In men's events, Richard Annorat was one of five athletes to clear 2.01 meters (the equivalent of 6' 7") in the high jump. He cleared 2.01 on his third attempt, however, to finish in sixth place.

Andrew Strzelecki, the MIAA champion in the javelin throw, achieved an eighth place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 48.37 meters (158' 8").
