Track & field athletes brave the cold to compete at Ohio Wesleyan

DELAWARE, Ohio – Albion College track & field student-athletes braved the cold to compete in the Marv Frye Invitational.

Layla Wilks was the runner-up in the 100- and 200-meter sprints, with Kimberly Barber taking third in the 200 and fifth in the 100. Emilee Kinney and Tyra Thomas-Spratley were fifth and seventh, respectively, in the 200.

Allison Butler (400) and Hannah Almhiemid (100 hurdles) finished second in their respective events, as well.

Butler passed a runner from Case Western Reserve University at the finish line to boost Albion to first place in the 4x400 relay.

In the field events, Jessica Johnson was the winner in the shot put, Nia Thomas was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump, Barber was third in the triple jump and Megan Winkler was sixth in the triple jump.

Albion is scheduled to compete against Alma College and Olivet College at Oliver on Friday.
