Women's Track & Field holds own against talented teams

ADA, Ohio – Layla Wilks sprinted to a runner-up finish in the 200 meters for one of the Albion College track & field highlights in the Joe Banks Invitational at Ohio Northern University.

Wilks reached the finish in 26.50 seconds. She also finished sixth in the 60 meter at 8.34 seconds.

Wilks was joined by Kimberly BarberChalara Sutton and Tyra Thomas-Spratley on the winning 4x200 relay. The Britons finished in 1:47.77.

Senior Allison Snyder ran to fourth place in the mile (5:25.80), Allison Butler set a personal record in finishing fifth in the 400 (1:01.32) and turned in the fastest leg on the 4x400 relay that ran a season's best time (4:17.15) in placing third.

One of Butler's teammates on the relay, Emily Kinser had a great day running personal bests of 8.35 in the 60 meters and 27.27 in the 200.

In the field, Jessica Johnson finished sixth in the shot put at 37' 3".

Next up for Albion is a Friday meet at Aquinas College.
