Women's Track & Field wins dual meet at Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kimberly Barber, Allison Butler and Layla Wilks each won an individual event and participated on a winning relay as Albion College defeated Calvin College, 47-25, in an indoor track & field dual meet.

In all, Albion achieved first place performances in seven events and the Britons swept the three scoring places in three events.

Wilks sprinted past the field in the 60-meter dash, reaching the finish in 8.12 seconds. She was followed by teammates Barber and Ericka Coleman.

Butler completed the 300 meters in a winning time of 43.91 seconds, finishing ahead of teammates Alyssa Barnett and Tyra Thomas-Spratley.

Barber's individual first place performance came in the long jump, sailing 16' 7 ¼".

Wilks and Barber were joined by Chalara Sutton and Emilee Kinney for first place in the 4x200 relay. The Britons completed the race in 1:52.05.

Butler joined Barnett, Emily Kinser and Thomas-Spratley for a winning time of 4:22.86 in the 4x400 relay.

Albion achieved a 1-2-3 finish in the weight throw as McKenna Donahue achieved first place with a heave of 41' 8". She was followed by Jessica Johnson and Abby Voglewede.

Jessica Johnson picked up the win for Albion in the shot put with a mark of 38' 3 ¼".

The distance runners will represent Albion in the Bob Eubanks Open at Grand Valley State University on Jan. 12. The Britons have a Jan. 27 meet at Defiance College in Ohio.
