GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Emilee Kinney sprinted to conference titles in the 100 and 200 meters and Maicey Peterson achieved a personal record to win the pole vault as Albion College finished third in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championship.

Kinney, a sophomore from Kenockee, Mich., set personal records to win both events. She trailed the field early in the 100, but surged to the finish in 12.47 seconds. Her winning time in the 200 was 25.79.

Peterson, a senior from Clarkston, Mich., cleared the pole vault bat at 11' 1 ¾", a personal record. She was part of a scoring haul in the 100 hurdles as Angela Morrison finished second, Peterson came in fourth, and T'Ana Smith took fifth.

Kinney and Peterson teamed up to help Albion secure a silver medal in the 4x100 relay. Joined by Nia Thomas and Tyra Thomas-Spratley, the Britons achieved a time of 49.42 seconds.

A multi-event athlete, Morrison scored throughout the day. In addition to her silver medal in the 100 hurdles, she gained another silver in the 400 hurdles and a bronze in the triple jump (with a career best leap of 35' 3"). She finished the meet by running with Alyssa Barnett, Emily Kinser and Thomas-Spratley on the 4x400 relay that finished third in 4:08.97, the third-fastest time in school history and Albion's best since 2012.

Thomas, who gained a MIAA title in the long jump on Thursday, added a silver medal in the triple jump. Khalia Royster finished fifth. Thomas achieved a career-best (35' 5") in the triple jump.
