BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Jessica Shaw came within a half second of the Albion College record in the 800 meters as the Britons competed outdoors for the first time this season in the Southern Invitational.

Shaw achieved a school record in winning the 1,500 meters in 4:42.79 Friday night.

Maicey Peterson produced points in three events, finishing fifth in the 100 hurdles in 16.65 seconds, sixth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 9' ¼" and joining Tyra Thomas-Spratley, Jacquelyn Harbin and Emilee Kinney for sixth place in the 4x100 relay (50.90).

Albion will head south again next weekend when it travels to Georgia for competition in an invitational at Emory University.
