ALBION, Mich. - First-year players Bella Scalise and Christina Rafaill won their singles matches in straight sets and another first-year player, Madelyn Polich, joined sophomore Marceline Redick for the point at No. 2 doubles as Albion College gained a 5-4 victory over Holy Cross College in a non-league women's tennis match.
Kirstin Moore was awarded the point at No. 6 singles and Moore and Rafaill gained the point at No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Albion's next match is a Feb. 3 home date with Alma College.
