Zuck Gains First Coaching Victory At Albion

ALBION, Mich. – Kacie Zuck gained her first victory as tennis coach at Albion College Saturday when the women's team knocked off Wittenberg University, 6-3, in a non-league match played inside the Ungrodt Tennis Center.

Albion won the top two doubles matches to seize control of the match. Chrissy Gauss and Lauren Rasmussen, playing in the No. 1 flight, gained an 8-2 victory, and Olivia Conover and Lauren Solano were 8-3 winners at No. 2.

Playing against an opponent who worked to return the ball, Rasmussen played the longest singles match of the day. Rasmussen finally emerged with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (5-7), 1-0 (11-9) victory.

Solano, Conover and Gauss won their singles matches in straight sets.

Albion continues non-league play at home with a 5 o'clock Friday match against Concordia (Mich.) University.
