Solano Scores In Women's Tennis Loss

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Lauren Solano pulled out a tiebreaker to win at No. 2 singles, but that was Albion College's only point in a 7-1 setback to Otterbein University in a non-league women's tennis match.

Solano edged Sophie Allen, 7-5, in the first set to take the early lead. After dropping the second set, 6-0, Solano eked out the tiebreaker, 12-10, to push her singles record to 6-3 on the year.

Otterbein won the other four contested singles matches in straight sets. The No. 5 singles match was not played due to time constraints.

Albion's best chance to score in doubles was at the top of the lineup. Lauren Rasmussen and Heather Vogt were defeated, 8-6.

Albion has two weeks off from competition before its April 5 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opener against Adrian College.
