HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Once it won a couple of close doubles matches, Albion College had the confidence to roll in singles. Albion completed its spring break competition with a 8-1 victory over Thomas More College.
Albion won the top four doubles matches in straight sets, including Lauren Solano's 6-2, 6-3 victory in the No. 2 flight. Heather Vogt clinched the match for the Britons, winning the No. 1 match by scores of 6-3, 6-4. Lauren Rasmussen and Chrissy Gauss also won their singles matches in straight sets.
Olivia Conover split sets with her rival at No. 5, but she rolled in the tiebreaker, 10-0.
Rasmussen and Vogt won the No. 1 doubles match, 8-3. Gauss and Solano were 8-6 winners at No. 2, and Rachel Barry and Conover were 9-7 winners at No. 3.
Albion will make a trip to Ohio March 19-20 for matches against Otterbein University and Capital University.
