Women's Tennis Continues Winning Ways

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Albion College women's tennis team is riding its longest winning streat since 2014 after recording a 7-2 victory over Emory & Henry.

The Britons have won their last four to push their season record to 5-1.

Albion took the early lead as it took the points at No. 2 (Chrissy Gauss and Lauren Solano) and No. 3 doubles (Rachel Barry and Olivia Conover). Barry and Conover were especially impressive, winning their match 8-0.

Solano's point at No. 2 singles clinched the match for the Britons. She split sets with Lauren Riner, but Solano was a 10-3 winner in the tiebreaker to decide the match.

Lauren Rasmussen pushed her singles record to 6-0, but it wasn't easy. At dropping the first set of the No. 3 singles match to Savanna Summers, Rasmussen evened the match by taking the second set, 6-0. The tiebraker to decide the match was intense, with Rasmnussen pulling it out, 12-10.

Gauss (No. 4), Conover (No. 5) and Barry (No. 6) won their singles matches in straight sets.

Albion's next match is a Wednesday date with Arcadia (Pa.) University.
