Mary Ann Egnatuk, '’76, an Albion College Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, joined the Albion College swimming & diving program as an assistant coach in time for the 2008-2009 season.

Egnatuk brings a wealth of experience to the Briton program after working as a coach at the high school level for 33 years. After beginning her coaching career at Ogemaw Heights High School, she returned to Albion where for almost 30 years she built an outstanding program. The Albion Wildcats girls' swimming team captured the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Class B championship in 1997 and the team was the runner-up in 1996 and ’98. Her teams also performed in the classroom, winning 12 Academic Team State Championships.

She was the MHSAA’s Class B Coach of the Year in 1997, a finalist for the National High School Athletic Coaches Association’s Coach of the Year award in 2005, and the Michigan High School Coaches' Association Coach of the Year in 2008.
She was the head coach for the Aquacat swimming program and organized swimming lessons and lifeguarding programs in the summer for area youth.

A member of the field hockey team that captured the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship in her senior year, Egnatuk was selected for the Michigan College Field Hockey Association team that played in the Great Lakes Sectional Tournament. She also earned varsity letters in track and field in 1975 and 1976, and in swimming.

Egnatuk lives in Albion with her husband Dave, '71. The couple has three daughters: Christine, Tracy and Jessica.
