Swimmers retain possession of Union Jack Trophy

ALMA, Mich. – Rileigh Eding and Camila Manrique swam on the winning 200 medley relay and each added a first place swim in individual events as Albion College dunked Alma College, 149-98, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's swimming and diving dual meet.

Tia Ulieme had one of the most improved swims, making better turns to shave a second off the time she set in a dual meet at Eastern Michigan University the night before.

Hannah Erickson (50 free), Kaitlind Hooper (400 individual medley), Sarah Kilbride (200 free), Katelyn Killewald (200 backstroke), and Hanna Paoletti (500 freestyle) also finished first in individual events.

With its 148-82 victory in the women's meet, Albion retained the Union Jack trophy for the fifth year in a row. The trophy is awarded to the team winning the combined men's and women's score.

Also, Coach Jake Taber said the Britons appreciated the support of the Briton men's basketball team who were on hand before a 3 o'clock game against the Scots.

"The men's basketball team was into the meet and both teams appreciated the support," Taber said.

Albion travels to Olivet College next Saturday for its final dual meet of the season.
