Albion Falls To MIAA Rival In Dual

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Katie Ferrero, Sarah Kilbride and Anna Moore won events Saturday, but Albion College's depth is better suited for championship scoring as opposed to dual meets.

Kalamazoo College took advantage to defeat Albion, 187-112, in the women's swimming & diving dual meet contested by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rivals.

Ferrero completed the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.39 to win the event by a 10-second margin over Kalamazoo's Megan Hoinville. She also played a role in Albion's seven-point haul in the 200 butterfly, finishing third. Kilbride was the runner-up in the butterfly and Mary Noble was fourth.

Kilbride led Albion to a one-two finish in the 200 breaststroke. Kilbride touched the wall first (2:38.10) with Natalie Nichols runner-up.

Moore completed the 200 backstroke in 2:10.81 for a 10-second margin of victory over Kalamazoo's Malak Ghazal. Moore also finished runner-up in the 200 freestyle.
