HOLLAND, Mich. – Kylene Slocum, Laura Steavenson, Anna Hargrove and Madison Vaive won the 400-yard freestyle relay to give Albion a positive finish to its dual meet against Hope.
The Britons achieved a time of 3:47.31 to win the free relay by two seconds, but Hope earned a 165-101 victory in the meet.
Hargrove produced Albion's only first place finish in individual events. Hargrove sprinted to a time of 25.69 in the 50 free to win the event by a tenth of a second and she finished second in the 200 backstroke. She also finished as the runner-up in the 200 backstroke.
Sarah Kilbridge (100 butterfly), Hailey Sambor (200 IM and 200 breaststroke), Steavenson (100 and 200 free), Abigail Slager (100 back), Slocum (100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle) all scored runner-up performances.
Albion returns to competition tomorrow when it squares off against the College of Wooster for a non-league dual meet.
