Women's Soccer picks up MIAA road victory

ALMA, Mich. – Clare Kelley collected her fourth goal of the season midway through the first half and that was enough for Albion College to gain a 1-0 result over Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's soccer match at Scotland Yard Wednesday afternoon.

The box score reports Albion controlled the match with a 10-2 edge in shots on goal. Kelley, Emily Brittain and Alex Radzville generated all but one of the shots on goal for the Britons.

Goalkeeper Megan Bricely achieved her third shutout of the season.

"it's always tough to go up to Alma and their kids played real hard," Albion Head Coach Eric Scott said. "I thought our group was good today all over. Lexi Taylor made a great play to help with the goal and Clare did well to get on the end of the rebound. Mikenna Ray, Alyssa Brooks, Riley Burnette and Samantha LaRocca were great leaders today."

Albion, winners of its last three to improve to 6-5-1 overall and 3-0 against MIAA rivals, travels to Kalamazoo College on Tuesday, Oct. 10 for a 7 p.m. contest.
