Britons Keep MIAA Tournament Hopes Alive

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College continued to make things miserable for the top teams in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Saturday afternoon.

Alex Radzville and Domenique Sarnecky scored the goals as Albion handed Kalamazoo College a 2-1 setback. The loss drops Kalamazoo into a tie with Hope College for first place in the league's women's soccer standings with the regular season ending Monday.

Albion, 6-0-1 over its last seven contests, kept its hopes of qualifying for the MIAA Tournament alive. Albion and Alma are tied for fourth in the standings. Alma plays host to Saint Mary's, while Albion is home against Adrian on the final day of the regular season. Albion must finish ahead of Alma to reach the tournament as Alma holds the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Sarnecky produced her team-leading seventh goal of the season with 10 ½ minutes left to give Albion a 2-0 advantage.

Emma Tardiff scored for Kalamazoo with 6 ½ minutes left, but that was the last shot of the day for either team.

Albion goalkeeper Megan Bricely collected three saves.
