ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College women's soccer team earned its first win at the new Davis Athletic Complex as it turned back Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Saint Mary's College, 4-0.

With the victory, Albion remained undefeated through three matches (2-0-1) and junior goalkeeper Maggie Troost picked up her second shutout of the season and the 13th of her career.

"I'm proud of the women to fight through the conditions with the heat," Albion Head Coach Eric Scott said. "I thought we controlled the tempo for the most part."

Albion not only controlled the first half, it dominated to the tune of 20 shots. The Britons settled for a 2-0 lead behind goals from Riley Burnette and Lauren Cross.

"Getting two goals is not the percentage you want," Scott said. "We talked about it at halftime and it improved in the second half. I think we had more desire to get to the goal."

Alex Radzville and Molly Hancock tacked on the goals for Albion in the second half.

Albion completes a three-game homestand at noon Saturday when MIAA rival Alma College provides the opposition.
