Lopez Earns POW Honors after Setting Record

Sophomore Chrystelle Lopez earned MIAA women's lacrosse player of the week honors, after her performance against Sienna Heights University last week.

Lopez scored 11 goals on 16 shots against the Saints. She also recorded 6 ground balls and 4 draw controls. Her 11 goals broke the Albion women's lacrosse single-game record. The previous record of 10 goals was set by Ashley Glenn in 2013 and then tied by Cait Gaitley in 2018.

After finishing the game on a 9-1 run, the Britons prevailed over the Saints with a final score of 23-18. The win took the purple and gold to a record of 4-2 for the 2020 season.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu
