Albion to meet Catholic in NCAA Tournament first round game

Albion College, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament champions, will head to Alliance, Ohio, to begin its road in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.

The Britons pulled a first round date against Catholic University. The draw is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 11.

The 10th-ranked Cardinals won their sixth-straight Landmark Conference championship.

The winner of the Albion-Catholic contest will advance to a second round game against the University of Mount Union at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 12.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
