Villabroza named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Jenina Villabroza represents Albion College among the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Players of the Week for March 11.

A junior from Glendale, Calif., Villabroza has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week in women's lacrosse for the second time this season. Villabroza stopped nearly 62 percent of the shots she faced in two contests last week. She collected three saves while shutting out the University of Dubuque in the first half last Monday, and she made 18 saves on 31 shots at the University of Chicago last Friday.

In NCAA Division III statistics for contests played through Sunday, Villabroza is 24th nationally with a .566 save percentage and 34th with 43 saves.

Albion continues non-league play this week with a Thursday night contest at Ohio Northern University and a Sunday afternoon date with Hanover College.
