Women's Lacrosse falls to Division II rival

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Chrystelle Lopez produced three goals and Abby Sheklow added two for the Albion College women's lacrosse team in a 17-8 loss to Division II Northern Michigan University on Saturday.

Destiny Okon and Sheklow scored in the first 3 ½ minutes of the game as Albion forged a 2-2 tie.

Jessica Daniels scored the next two goals and Northern Michigan never trailed again. In fact, Northern Michigan scored seven goals in a row to build a 9-2 lead.

Albion got as close as 10-5 on a goal by Carly Schwarz early in the second half.

Darcy Muns also scored a goal for Albion in the contest.

Albion's next contest is a March 2 date at the University of Dubuque.
