Women's Lacrosse rolls to road victory

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Albion College featured a balanced offense and Taylor Nelson controlled the defensive end as the Britons dominated Franklin College, 20-2, in a non-league women's lacrosse game.

First-year attacker Abby Sheklow had a breakout performance with five goals and senior Cait Gaitley produced four goals.

Lauren Wiegand and Darcy Muns both had three goals and each dished out an assist.

"The offense worked hard off the ball to create opportunities for teammates," Head Coach Shanta Loecker said.

Wiegand stuffed the box score by controlling 13 draws and scooping up seven ground balls.

Kahl led Albion in the hustle statistic with 11 ground balls.

Jade Barrett tacked on two goals and Cassandra Reuschlein and Carly Schwarz added a goal apiece.

Albion limited Franklin to six shots, five of those on goal. Goalkeeper Jenina Villabroza finished with three saves.

Albion, 2-0 on the young season, will travel to the west coast for spring break games against Redlands and Claremont Mudd-Scripps.
