Glenn, Wood Push Albion Past Aurora

AURORA, Ill. – Julie Wood scored four first-half goals, including two in a little more than three minutes late in the first half, as Albion College earned an 11-8 victory over Aurora University in non-league women's lacrosse action.

It was the second win in as many tries for Albion, which improved to 2-1 on the young season.

Albion trailed 3-2 until Wood tacked on an unassisted score with 5:12 left in the first half. Wood's fourth goal of the half – assisted by Ashley Glenn with two minutes left – gave Albion a 4-3 lead it never relinquished.

Glenn and Kadie Koolwick scored the first two goals of the second half as Albion extended the lead to 6-3. Aurora never got closer than two goals the rest of the way.

Glenn led Albion with five goals. Koolwick finished with two goals. Mackenzie Novak dished out three assists.

Goalkeeper Victoria Della Pia snared eight saves.

Albion completes its Illinois trip with a Sunday contest at Augustana College.
