Albion surges in MIAA women's golf standings

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Albion College posted the second-lowest team score in the first round of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's golf fall finale at the Bedford Valley Country Club.

Led by Megan Moco and Madison Kroetsch with rounds of 81, the Britons achieved a 336 total. Albion was second only to MIAA-leading Saint Mary's College (304).

"Our golfers played with incredible belief in their ability," Albion Head Coach Jordan McArleton said. "They practiced and prepared hard, and when we got on the course, they just trusted what we had trained. We've got one more important day to go, but I'm proud of how we played today."

Thanks to its successful round, Albion surged to third place in the MIAA standings for the season.

Weather permitting, the second round of the tournament begins Saturday morning at 9 o'clock.
