Albion maintains hold on third place in MIAA women's golf standings

SAUGATUCK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's golf standings look more interesting after Tuesday's round at The Ravines.

However, Albion College continues to hold third place after three of the six rounds to determine the four teams that will advance to play for the coveted automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Championship in the spring.

Albion finished sixth in the team standings for the round on Tuesday with a 341 total. The Britons finished three strokes behind Alma College and Olivet College, the teams tied for fourth, and four behind third-place Calvin College.

At the midpoint of the season, seniors Megan Moco and Madison Kroetsch are in the mix to achieve all-MIAA status.

Moco shot a 9-over par 81 on Tuesday and she sits 10th in the MIAA individual standings with an 83.7-stroke average.

Kroetsch sits 12th in the individual standings after a round of 83 on Tuesday. She boasts an 84-stroke average through three MIAA rounds this season.

Sydney Cohn (87) and Bailey Downs (90) completed Albion's team score.

Kalamazoo College is the host for the Sept. 29 MIAA Jamboree.
