ALBION, Mich. - A 15-2 run to start the second quarter was the turning point in Albion's 65-51 win over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponent Adrian. It was a run that was sparked right out of the gate by a layup from freshman Elena Welker. It was a strong effort on both sides of the ball as Albion finished the second quarter outscoring the Bulldogs 15-6.

Twenty-six turnovers forced by the Britons led to 32 points off turnovers, which helped Albion cruise to victory. Elena Welker (13), Evelyn Wischmeyer (14), and Rain Hinton (15) all contributed double-figures in points for the Britons.

After suffering their first home loss against Hope on Wednesday, Albion came back strong and locked in on defense. The Britons held Adrian to 37.5% from the field, which included 31.3% from beyond the arc.

Rain Hinton dominated in the paint with 17 rebounds. This is her second-best career performance on the boards behind her 23 rebounds earlier in the season against Hiram.

On the offensive end, the Britons assisted 16 times on 25 total field goals while creating six second-chance points. Elena Welker led the Britons with eight assists, which ties her career-high.

The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
