Britons lend a hand at community event

Men Who Cook is an annual event to benefit the Citizens to Beautify Albion.

The Albion College women's basketball team took a break from preparing for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament to perform community service at the event.

Emily Bernas, an all-MIAA second team pick from Waterford, Mich., provided her reflection from the community service project.

"This year, much like years before, the Albion College women's basketball team volunteered in Albion for Men Who Cook. Men Who Cook is an event where men in the community cook a dish and share it with the community. This is the 47th year of this event. A non-profit group in Albion, called Citizens to Beautify Albion, raised money to help fund this event. The team helped to pass out drinks, clean up tables, and help others with their plates. It is truly a rewarding experience to help out the community and see the connection that there is between the city of Albion and the college."
