Albion cruises to MIAA victory

ALBION, Mich. – Rain Hinton achieved her fifth double-double of the season and three of her Albion College teammates scored in double figures as the Britons cruised to a 93-39 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Kalamazoo College in women's basketball action at Kresge Gymnasium.

Hinton scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Emily Bernas, who knocked down 7-of-10 shots, finished with 19 points.

McKenzie Domine and Evelyn Wischmeyer added 10 points apiece.

Jami Hubbard, one of two Albion seniors who were playing in their final regular season home game, chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, two steals and a block.

Albion took control of the game by outscoring Kalamazoo 32-7 in the second quarter and 23-6 in the third quarter.

Albion secured 24 offensive rebounds and that led to 32 second chance points. The Britons also scored 50 points in the lane.

Albion, 17-7 overall and 9-6 against MIAA rivals, will complete the regular season with a 3 p.m. Saturday game at Saint Mary's College.
