ALBION, Mich. – Alma College shot 64 percent in the fourth quarter to overcome an 11-point deficit and stun Albion College, 60-58, in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action Wednesday night.
Albion led 49-38 on Sam Carter's 3-point basket with 7 ½ minutes to play.
Alma scored on consecutive possessions to cut the deficit to seven with six minutes left, but it was unable to get closer until there were less than five minutes to play.
Baskets by Oretha Humphries and Madeline Barnauskas drew Alma within two, 50-48, with four minutes to play.
Rain Hinton was Albion's top offensive performer all night, leading all players with 23 points. She hit a pair of free throws to put Albion up four and her jumper tied the score at 54 with a minute to play.
Humphries, who finished with 10 points, was the difference in the final minute with a basket and two free throws. Barnauskas clinched the game with two free throws with 4.8 seconds left.

- Hinton has scored at least 20 in consecutive games and six times this season. She also grabbed eight rebounds, dished out two assists and collected a steal.
- Maija Gillum was Albion's other double figure scorer with 10.
- Albion shot 54 percent in the first half, but that dropped to 31 percent in the second half.
