Albion doubles up Finlandia

ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College women's basketball team will enjoy the weekend after doubling up Findlandia University, 86-43, in Friday night non-league action at Kresge Gymnasium.

Albion scored 17 in a row to build a 21-5 lead in the first quarter, and the Britons never looked back. Jami Hubbard scored seven of her team-high 13 points and Maija Gillum buried a pair of jumpers.

Of Note

  • Albion shot at least 50 percent from the field in every quarter and finished the game 36-of-65 (55 percent)
  • Four Britons scored in double figures: Hubbard, Rain Hinton (12), Evelyn Wischmeyer (11) and McKenzie Domine (10, a season-high)
  • None of the Britons played more than 19 minutes, and 12 of the 13 student-athletes scored
