Britons Pick Up Team Win

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Oreyana Curry and Erin Nelson narrowly missed achieving double-doubles as Albion College completed the regular season by rolling to an 87-59 victory over Kalamazoo College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.

Curry produced 12 points and dished out eight assists. She finished the regular season with 400 points, seventh-most in a season in the history of the Albion women's basketball program.

Nelson finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Emily Bernas hit six of her seven shots from the field to finish with a team-high 13 points. Tierra Orban led the Britons off the bench with 11 points.

Albion scored on its first six possessions and never trailed in the game. Bernas scored five points in the first quarter as Albion led, 24-7, and never looked back.

"I thought we played good team basketball," Head Coach Doreen Carden said after her team improved to 18-7 overall. "It gives us good momentum heading into the MIAA Tournament."

The Britons, who were 11-5 against league rivals during the regular season, will matchup against league champion Trine University in a semifinal game of the MIAA Tournament.
