ALMA, Mich. – Senior guard Oreyana Curry ripped off a seven point run in a 47 second span of the third quarter as Albion College built a double digit lead and went on to earn a 74-65 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Alma College.

"We came out with a lot of energy in the third, and I think we wore them down," Head Coach Doreen Carden said. "Oreyana led the charge offensively and we received good production from a lot of kids."

Olivia Savage ignited the third quarter rally with a 3-point basket to extend the Albion lead to 42-38.  Curry followed with a layup, an old-fashioned 3-point play and another 3-point basket as Albion pulled out to a 50-40 lead midway through the quarter.

Savage, Evelyn Wischmeyer and Mackenzie Fairbanks scored layups on consecutive possessions as Albion carried a 65-51 lead at the end of the third and it led by double digits until the final two minutes of the contest.

Curry produced her eighth 20-point game of the season, finishing with 24. She hit all four of her 3-point attempts and was 6-of-7 from the line. She also dished out five assists.

Savage and Emily Bernas also scored in double figures with 13 and 11, respectively.

Wischmeyer pulled down a season high 11 rebounds.

Brittany Leutz led the reserves with eight points and six rebounds.

Next up for Albion (11-3 overall, 4-2 MIAA) is a 3 o'clock Saturday home date with Calvin College.
