GRAND RAPIDS – Kayla Engelhard got the game started with a pair of three-point baskets and post player Carissa Verkaik followed by scoring 23 points as second-ranked Calvin College earned an 82-38 victory over Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.
Calvin led 22-5 midway through the first half as Breanna Verkaik finished a fastbreak layup and drilled a three-point basket. The Knights went on to hold a 40-16 lead at halftime.
Engelhard and Kelsey Irwin contributed 11 points apiece for the Knights.
Brett de Bear knocked down 6 of 14 shots from the field to finish with 14 points for Albion.
