ALBION, Mich. – Four starters scored in double figures to lead Albion College to a 67-58 victory over Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.

It completes a winning week for Albion which is riding a two-game winning streak for the second time this season.

Darian Payne scored in the lane and Brett de Bear sank four of her 12 free throws as Albion reeled off the final six points of the first half to forge a 37-30 lead at halftime.

Emily DeWaters produced a pair of baskets in the first two minutes of the second half as the margin reached double figures, 41-31, for the first time. Albion led 51-40 when de Bear tacked on two more free throws with 11 ½ minutes to play.

Albion did not score for more than six minutes as three Adrian players scored to trim the margin to three, 51-48, with 5:41 remaining. The Britons repelled the Adrian rally as de Bear knocked down a jumper and Tanner Johnson added a pair of free throws. DeWaters threw the knockout punch with a layup that extended the lead to 59-49 with three minutes to play.

de Bear finished her eighth 20-point game of the season with 23 points. Darian Payne, a first-year forward, turned in her second double-double of the week with a career-high 13 points and 14 rebounds. Taylor Nugent and DeWaters contributed 14 and 10, respectively.

Rachael Walker was Adrian's high scorer with 17 points.
