Softball team spends time volunteering with amazing kids

The Albion College softball team took a break from its spring break schedule of 12 games in six days Wednesday by doing some community service at Golisano Children's Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla.

"We spent two hours with some very special kids," Savannah Spring, a junior from Waterford, Mich., who plays in the outfield and serves as secretary for Albion's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, said. "We made bracelets and read books to them. We met and spent time with some amazing kids and their families. It was a great team bonding experience. We were very fortunate to get the opportunity to volunteer again."

Albion returns to the field Thursday morning with games against Drew University and Kenyon College at the CenturyLink Sports Complex. The Britons will complete the spring break trip with Friday games against Martin Luther College and Penn State University-Altoona in Naples and Saturday games against Lesley University and Western Connecticut State University in Fort Myers.
